Learn and teach with Booki.

I have recently come across a free ( and by that I mean both access and cost)web-ware for creating, collaborating, sharing and publishing books - Booki (visit at http://www.booki.cc/). It took me a couple of hours to explore the software and read all manuals + Booki blog (http://blog.booki.cc/ - extremely useful!) to be ready to try it with my students. The idea was to bring more creativity and meaningfulness into one of the courses I am currently teaching - Managerial Communication. I asked my students to donate one chapter each on one case of miscommunication (business related) they have personally experienced or observed. The course lasts 6 weeks and each week we follow the programme as below:
Week 1. Introducing booki - getting to know the platform (registration, setting the group and the book)
Week 2. Making first entry - composing first draft (appr. 3-4 paragraphs)
Week 3. Connecting the case to the course reading (7 articles)
Week 4. Grounding the case in one (or a few) theories discussed during the course
Week 5. Peer-review and feeback
Week 6. Publishing the book
We are currently in week 5 and I look forward to reaping the first fruit of our labour.
